High Street Finds

After doing some digging around on clothing websites I managed to find these two high street versions of the Chloe Susanna studded ankle boots I posted a few weeks ago. I’m in heaven! The top pair are from Office and are £80 whilst the other pair are from Zara with a slightly heftier price tag of £119. As I’m still saving for my trip to Australia (which coincidentally is one month today!!!) I think I’d be more inclined to buy the top pair, which is the pair that most resembles the luxury Chloe ones, so next week I may have to treat myself. As I said in my last post these boots could be worn with practically any outfit, girly or more masculine.

Haul

Treated myself to a little shopping trip this week… incorporating two of my current favourite trends, fluro yellow and monochrome! Believe it or not this Primark blazer was only £15. YES that is correct!! After trying to find my perfect striped blazer my favourite ended up being Primark’s finest! Happy Elaine :)

Topshop New In Wishlist

I don’t know why I do this to myself yet every week at work I find myself back on the Topshop website gazing longingly at their ‘New In’ section and holding myself back from adding numerous items to my shopping basket there and then. This week was no exception! So many amazing pieces; here are my five favourites which completely reflect my own personal style incorporating key trends such as military/khaki, drop hems, leather, studs and the new season’s ‘in’ colour, oxblood. Some may say it’s maroon but I like to think not! I love Autumn fashion, shame (or not really..) that I won’t be in the UK to see it this year! I am trying to narrow my wishlist down to one item as a treat but seriously can’t decide. Which should I buy??

Spontaneous

What was originally planned to be a quiet night in with wine and DVDs turned into a very drunken night out at Revs and Perdu. One of my best friends who went to live in Dubai for a year came back for a holiday and I ended up going out in all of her clothes which was so exciting!

Work and Play

Two recent outfits. Bought this Zara dress for a night out but actually ended up wearing it to work! I got some hilarious comments for wearing a gold dress but I don’t care, it’s amazing and so unusual. It’s a bit of a weird shape, being a tunic and the pockets stick out funny so I added a skinny Primark belt. Wore it with my studded black ballet pumps to add some extra gold!

Wore this Missguided top and New Look shorts combo on one of the only summery days we’ve had (sob!) and I always said I hated clashing prints but I guess it really depends on the print doesn’t it?! I also teamed it with a New Look cream/white fringed gilet and Republic brown gladiator sandals.

Ladies Day

Yesterday was Ladies Day at the races! Sadly didn’t turn out to be as fun as last time I went to the races in York. It was cold/windy/rainy and a lot of people were just miserable. And it was packed of various ‘wannabe posh people’ (i.e. scum of the north east) who clearly had no idea of the meaning of fashion!! Seriously though, I saw someone in a long gold sequin evening dress with a cutout back, a topknot, and it was just ridiculous to say the least. But as a group I think WE all looked rather delightful! I never thought a headband would actually suit my short hair but think I’ve managed to pull it off somewhat gracefully.

Wishlist

I swear my wishlist just gets bigger and bigger by the day. Again, you can see my wardrobe isn’t really straying from my current favourite trends (tribal/metallics/fluro) with this amazing neon messenger bag from Zara, which can also be used as a clutch, an aztec-style fringed kimono from the brand Reverse which is sold on ASOS etc and another aztec-inspired piece from Topshop, simple white vest. Need to get my hands on these ASAP! The kimono I actually saw on Charlotte from Geordie Shore of all people but I’m trying not to think about that fact too much!

Runwaydreamz

Ok new obsession- Runwaydreamz is a US online shop specialising in frayed shorts in loads of different patterns and colours. The price tag on them is more than I’d pay for a pair of shorts at this moment in time but even just sitting gazing at them on my screen fills me with happiness! The aztec print ‘Willow’ shorts are definitely my favourites. I love the stud detailing on the pockets. Everyone knows I’m a shorts person rather than a skirts person in the summer so this is like my ultimate shorts heaven. PLEEEAAASE let me win the lottery this week?!

I Can Dream…

I have become addicted to Shenae Grimes’ fashion blog (Annie from 90210) which is where I found these gorgeous boots. A little (well a lot) out of my price range sadly, the Chloe Susanna ankle boots are simply A-MAZING. Love the androgynous look they have about them and could be worn with almost any outfit from a vintage summer dress to boyfriend jeans and a blazer. Always loved Shenae’s grunge-esque indie style, very happy she is yet another person making the transition from acting to fashion.

In Love with ‘Love’

As always I decided to treat myself to a little eBay spend. I know I know, I NEED to save up for Australia but this was cheap. I promise. I discovered the ‘Love’ clearance store so I had to buy something seeing as it’s my favourite go-to website for dresses. This dress is simply beautiful! The picture here doesn’t do it justice, it’s a gorgeous ivory colour with a drop midi hem. It is still selling at £40 on inlovewithfashion.com but this was supposedly ‘faulty’ so was being sold brand new for £11.99 on the eBay clearance shop. I haven’t found any faults with it. The only annoying thing is it is totally see-through when on so I’m going to have to invest in some sort of slip to save my modesty! Considering rocking it up with my new spike boots and maybe a chunky belt for next week’s night out to Perdu. Love it!
